Yorkshire Home Search

When considering a Yorkshire home search our clients often choose the Yorkshire Dales or Yorkshire Moors in order to be amongst the stunning landscapes they provide.

A Yorkshire home search in the Yorkshire Dales attracts many to the area of Upper Wharfedale recently made famous by the Calendar Girls of Rylstone and District Women’s Institute. Following the undulating hills along the river Wharfe, the villages of Threshfield, Burnsall, Appletreewick and the market town of Grassington offer great lifestyle options. They are all within a reasonable car journey from Skipton and Harrogate and only a stone’s throw from the Duke of Devonshire’s 30,000 acre Bolton Abbey Estate that includes the well renown Devonshire Arms Country House Hotel.

Further down into Lower Wharfedale is often the focus of a Yorkshire home search and is likely to include the villages of Adddingham and Burley together with the towns of Ilkley and Otley.

Another popular area for a Yorkshire Home Search is to the north of Harrogate into Nidderdale and may include the villages of Birstwith, Hampsthwaite, Dacre and Darley and the market town of Pateley Bridge. The favoured landmark of Brimham Rocks and the Michelin starred restaurant, The Yorke Arms at Ramsgill  all providing a keen destination for walkers and connoisseurs of food.

Further into the dales we find Wensleydale, famous for its Wensleydale cheese  and the market town of Middleham that has been a centre for training racehorses for over 200 years . Leyburn and Bedale are two other market towns that are both within close proximity.

A Yorkshire home search could also centre around Swaledale and Arkengarthdale which form part of the most northern dales in the Yorkshire Dales National Park or we may look to the villages of Grinton, Fremington and Reeth along the River Swale to Richmond, The Yorkshire Dales market town.

The North Yorkshire Moors National Park is one of the most sought after locations for a Yorkshire home search. The park covers all the way to the coast and to the holiday destinations between Whitby and Scarborough. This takes in some dramatic coastal scenery and the highly popular areas of Staithes, Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Robin Hoods Bay which all offer historic tales of smuggling along the coast and some wonderful sandy beaches.

The area north of Pickering around Goathland is also well known for the television series, Heartbeat that introduced a lot of the country to the beauty of the North Yorkshire Moors.

The North Yorkshire Moors National Park consists of three forests; Dalby, Cropton and Langdale the former well known for the WRC rally stages that it has hosted. It is here that those with a requirement for a Yorkshire home search will also find the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway which was used in the first Harry Potter film and also in Heartbeat.
